MAP provides essential emotional, social, and mental health resources to help individuals with food allergies thrive.
More Allergies Please (MAP) is a holistic support system that addresses the mental, emotional, and social challenges of living with food allergies. Founded by Sarah Abbatangelo, MAP offers coaching, digital resources, and community support to help individuals manage their allergies and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
MAP: Empowering Allergy Warriors with Emotional and Social Support
Living with food allergies involves more than just avoiding allergens, it also involves managing emotional and social hurdles. More Allergies Please (MAP) is an innovative approach to allergy care, providing emotional, mental, and social support to empower individuals with food allergies to thrive.
A Holistic Approach to Allergy Care
MAP was founded by Sarah Abbatangelo, a social worker who has personal experience with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), asthma, and IgE food allergies. Unlike traditional medical care, which focuses primarily on physical symptoms, MAP goes beyond this by offering emotional support, coaching, and resources for managing mental health challenges associated with food allergies.
Sarah’s own struggles with the medical system, where emotional aspects of living with allergies were often ignored, inspired her to create MAP. She recognized that those with food allergies not only need medical treatment but also a supportive environment to address anxiety, stress, and social isolation.
Addressing Mental Health Challenges
The emotional toll of living with food allergies is significant. The constant fear of reactions, social stigma, and feelings of isolation can lead to stress and anxiety. MAP offers personalized coaching, focusing on stress management, mental resilience, and navigating social situations like dining out, attending events, or traveling, experiences that can trigger anxiety for those living with allergies.
Through MAP’s resources, individuals can gain the tools needed to approach life with confidence and mental strength.
Building a Supportive Community
MAP fosters a sense of community, allowing individuals with food allergies to connect, share experiences, and support each other. Peer support groups and coaching help alleviate the emotional isolation that often comes with allergies.
As Sarah Abbatangelo shares, “Living with allergies shouldn’t mean living in fear. We help people not only manage their condition physically but also emotionally, allowing them to navigate life with confidence.” MAP creates a safe space for people to express their concerns, share coping strategies, and connect with others who understand their challenges.
Future Growth and Personalized Services
MAP plans to expand its services to offer therapy for residents of New York and one-on-one coaching across the country. This expansion will allow MAP to provide more personalized support, helping individuals address the emotional complexities of living with food allergies.
The MAP Difference
What sets MAP apart is its commitment to helping individuals not only survive but thrive with food allergies. By addressing both physical and emotional aspects of living with allergies, MAP offers a holistic approach that goes beyond symptom management. Through its coaching services, digital resources, and community support, MAP is reshaping how we think about food allergies, empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives.
