Pali Bermúdez’s Bunny Tails Stories pairs gentle storytelling with social-emotional learning to help families turn big feelings into meaningful conversations.
Leadership starts earlier than we think—often at the kitchen table, in the car after school, or at bedtime, when a child is trying to name a feeling they don’t yet understand. Bunny Tails was created for those moments: not just to entertain, but to help families turn everyday emotions into meaningful, confidence-building conversations.
Founded by author and communications professional Pali Bermúdez, Bunny Tails Stories is a children’s book brand rooted in social-emotional learning and built around a simple mission: give children language for big feelings and give caregivers a gentle framework for connection during transitions—like new siblings, changing routines, or evolving family dynamics.
“Big feelings don’t need big speeches,” Pali shares. “They need gentle words, time, and connection.”
Emotional leadership at home: why language matters
Bunny Tails grew out of the moments many caregivers recognize: when children don’t have the words for what they feel, they often show it through behavior. In those moments, adults aren’t just parenting—they’re leading: modeling calm, creating psychological safety, and guiding a child toward self-understanding.
As a Colombian author raising a bilingual, multicultural family in the U.S., Pali set out to create stories that help children feel seen, safe, and understood through life’s changes. Her goal wasn’t to write books that end at the last page, but stories that continue through the conversations that follow.
“My children gave me the clearest inspiration: the questions they asked, the worries they didn’t yet know how to explain, and the love they carried through every change,” she says.
A story designed as a communication tool
At the core of Bunny Tails is an approach that blends emotional insight with practical communication—so caregivers don’t feel stuck when a child asks a hard question or reacts with big emotions.
Pali’s method is shaped by both lived experience and academic training: she studied Psychology and Communication Studies at Texas Christian University (TCU) and earned her Master of Science there as well—deepening her understanding of how people process emotions, build trust, and find language for what they feel.
Instead of relying on heavy lessons, Bunny Tails uses:
- Warm, relatable storytelling grounded in family life
- Emotion-centered themes (change, belonging, jealousy, excitement, fear, tenderness)
- Conversation prompts and reflection moments that help caregivers continue the dialogue
That last element is intentional. Bunny Tails is built to support the moment after the story—when the real growth can happen.
“Sometimes the most important part of the book isn’t the page you read—it’s the question you ask right after,” Pali explains. “That’s where kids feel seen.”
A founder-led brand built with intention
Bunny Tails is also a founder-led brand built with consistency and care. Pali independently led the development of the English edition—from storytelling and creative direction to brand-building, content creation, and community outreach. That hands-on approach reflects the same principle Bunny Tails teaches: show up with intention, and build trust one moment at a time.
“I didn’t want this to feel like a product. I wanted it to feel like a companion families can return to,” she says. “That meant building every piece with care—from the story to how people discover it.”
Expanding the story: Spanish edition in development with Babidi-Bú
While Bunny Tails is currently available in English, the Spanish edition is in development through a publishing partnership with Babidi-Bú, brought to life in collaboration with Argentinian illustrator Jessica Gamboa. For Pali, this expansion is about more than reach—it’s about identity and belonging.
“Language carries identity,” Pali says. “Making space for both languages isn’t just accessibility—it’s belonging.”
What’s next for Bunny Tails
Bunny Tails is just getting started. Upcoming titles currently in development—planned in both English and Spanish—include:
- I’m a Big Sister
- The Night Time Glow
- My Heart’s Windows
Each story continues the brand’s purpose: helping children—and the adults who guide them—navigate emotional milestones with warmth, honesty, and connection.
